Entercom announced May 1, 2006 that the new HD (high-definition) radios by Boston Accoustic (Receptor HD-2) are now available and that Entercom is broadcasting all eight of it's Kansas City stations in digital AM and FM. The digital AM will sound like FM stereo and digital FM like CD's.
 
In December, 2008--Entercom announced that Classical 1660 KXTR is now being "simulcast" in digital stereo on the new HD radios--at 98.1 HD2.

Newsradio 980 KMBZ welcomes EJ Becker to the Morning News team with Ellen Schneck as well two well-known and respected radio personalities to afternoons--KMBZ News Director Scott Parks and Business Commentator, Mike Shanin...with Shanin & Parks--now weekdays from 4p-7p.
 
KMBZ's Coats For Kids celebrated another year of our listeners wonderful donations to children of the Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri school districts. We collected and cleaned over 6000 coats last year--and over 10,000 coats this year thanks to Plaza Ford Ideal and the Sertoma Club.
 
KMBZ is now audio streaming on the internet at www.kmbz.com, including Rush Limbaugh (at no charge)!

Classical 1660 KXTR continues to play the classical favorites Kansas City has enjoyed for over 50 years--being programmed locally by Morning Show host, Patrick Neas.
 
Dr. Timothy McDonald of Rockhurst University/Musica Sacra fame is now on KXTR M-F, 10a-3p and Mickey Coalwell joins you from 4p-10p for evenings of great classical music.
 
KXTR's programming line-up continues with another year of the Arts Preview feature on Thursday mornings form 8:30a-9a with KXTR's Patrick Neas and Dr. Timothy McDonald of Rockhurst University, Dick Hawk's Gaslight Jazz on Saturday evenings, 11p-12M and Sundays, 11a-12noon featuring the best of dixieland jazz with Lyn Zimmer and the Jazz Band from the Gaslight Grill in Leawood.. and the Park University Hour on Friday morinings, 9a-10a--discussing the latest in the arts from Park University and their stellar music program. The Kansas City Ballet's Music Moves is now heard Sundays--12noon to 1p with wonderful ballet music.
 
In May, 2006, Entercom began audio streaming KXTR on the internet at www.kxtr.com. You can now hear it worldwide in crystal clear digital stereo through your computer as well as simulcast on the new HD (high definition) radios at 98.1 HD2...Kansas City's HD Classical Station!
